He's out to save them and protect them and has the knowledge to stop this cultist. But is he outmatched?
ZEDD'S OPINION:
As I said way back when this is a true buried treasure. The story works, the creature effects works. Not all the effects
work but I blame that on the time period it was made. But it's an almost perfect movie. 9 STARS.
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree with Zedd on this one, this is a classic movie that isn't quite perfect but it Oscar material compared to all the
Satan and Cult movies of the 1970s, with the exception of the Omen movies. The movies before the seventies and after the
seventies can be good but the satan movies of the 1970s was all bad with bad endings. But this was 68 pre-70s and it's great,
9 STARS as well.
ON THE POSTIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ STORY (The story works.)
+ CAT (The cast works.)
+ CREATURE EFFECTS (The creature effects works.)
+ ACTING (The acting was great.)
+ HAMMER MASTER PIECE (One of Hammer's better lesser known works.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- STUPID TITLE (THE DEVIL RIDES OUT? They couldn't have come up with a better title then that?)
- EFFECTS (Some minor matting issues.)
...AND FINALLY...
- FAN BASED (If you aren't big on this kind of movie, it isn't for you.)
