THE PLOT:

Peter is just a normal guy living in the 1970s and like many guys he wants to learn about his heritage. He is horrified to learn that one of his ancestors is a cold blooded madman nicknamed Baron Blood. That Baron Blood was burned at the stake for his many crimes against his own people.

While researching Baron Blood Peter learns that he was prepared for death and set up his own curse to return for revenge and accidentally reads the very spell Blood needs to return. Now as the living dead Baron Blood sets a plan in motion that will destroy his enemies once and for all.

ZEDD'S OPINION:

I enjoyed this and I'm not the biggest Mario Bava fan, not after seeing that train wreck Black Sunday with Boris Karloff. But this is different, this is a good movie. Well written, nice creature effects, realistic gore effects and a cool story that works. Yes, I do like this movie. There are some character issues I would like to address and some of the dubbing could have been better. But other then that, a great flick. 7 STARS

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

I agree for the most part, except I have to say that this movie had a tendency to drag on at points. Slow down to a crawl at times, then speed up then slow down again. Some movies are like a roller coaster ride, this was more like a trip of the city bus. I liked it, don't get me wrong. I just didn't love it. 5 STARS.

ON THE POSTIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ EFFECTS (Gore effects were pretty cool.)
+ CREATURE EFFECTS (The creature effects were cool.)
+ STORY (The story basically works.)
+ CHARACTERS (I liked most of the characters.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- MINOR CHARACTER ISSUES (Some of the minor characters got annoying.)
- DUBBING (Could have been better.)

- SLOW SPOTS (Voltron felt it slowed down several times during the run.)
